AROUND PORT ISAAC

Explore and Discover

One of the beauties of Port Isaac is that it is perfectly placed for touring. So you can fill each day with new activities, or there again, you might want to simply stay put and relax…

Set yourself up for the day with a pre-breakfast stroll down to the harbour where you might see the fishing boats setting out or you could explore the shoreline and find the pool where, in the past, the fresh crabs and lobsters were kept alive until sent to market.

After Breakfast …

…you’ll be heading for the coast path or the beach, either nearby port Gaverne or, perhaps, Polzeath, (5 miles away) one of the finest, safest surfing beaches on the North Cornish coast.  Close by there are fishing trips, riding, and golf at the famous St. Enedoc course.

If you want to go further a field, why not let the children visit the seal sanctuary at Gweek, the Eden Project or Flambards, the largest theme park in Cornwall.

If you’re historically orientated, why not visit Lanhydrock House, owned by the National Trust or Tintagel, on a wild beautiful site.

“Just 2 minutes from the front door, there is something for all the family, young or old, to enjoy”

THE DAVEY’S AND PERRY’S

At the end of your day…

…you could go down to the Golden Lion for a meal on the terrace overlooking the harbour, and reflect on the day’s activities…

And afterwards, talk to the locals and pick up some ideas for the morrow…

Port Quin, the deserted fishing village where Poldark’s Dr. Enys lived, or the famous newly discovered Gardens of Heligan…
